This Privacy Policy applies to the My Guard mobile application, website, APIs, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: name, phone number, password in protected form, profile image, and user role.
- Identity and provider details: age, gender, weight, height, skills, profile photographs, introduction videos, qualifications, and service preferences where applicable.
- Booking information: pickup country, city, street, building number, date, time, duration, dress code, requested services, number of persons, and booking notes.
- Communications: messages exchanged through the Services and information submitted when contacting support.
- Verification information: phone verification status and one-time verification codes.
Information collected automatically
- Device and technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, language, crash logs, and diagnostic information.
- Usage information, such as features used, booking activity, timestamps, and interactions with the Services.
- Location information when you grant permission or submit a pickup or live location.
3. How we use your information
We use information to:
- Create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
- Verify phone numbers and help protect accounts from unauthorized access.
- Process bookings and connect customers with guards, drivers, translators, guides, or babysitters.
- Calculate service availability, duration, and pricing.
- Enable in-app communication, operational notifications, and booking updates.
- Provide safety, fraud-prevention, customer-support, and dispute-resolution functions.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve the Services.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.
4. Location data
My Guard may process precise or approximate location information to create and fulfill bookings, show pickup locations, support live-location functionality, coordinate service providers, and provide safety-related features. Location access depends on your device permissions.
You can disable location access in your device settings. Some booking, tracking, or safety features may not function correctly without it.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain transaction and safety records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal or accounting requirements. Retention periods vary according to the type of information and applicable obligations.
When information is no longer required, we delete it, anonymize it, or securely isolate it until deletion is possible.
7. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information, including access controls, authentication, encrypted network transmission where supported, and restricted database access. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should protect their passwords and devices and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.
8. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of your personal information. You may also withdraw permissions through your device settings, opt out of optional communications, or object to certain processing.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some information may be retained where required for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
9. Account and data deletion
You may request deletion of your My Guard account and associated personal data at any time.
Email privacy@myguardd.cloud from the phone number or contact method associated with your account. Use the subject “My Guard Account Deletion Request” and include your registered phone number.
After verifying the request, we will delete or anonymize the account information that we are not legally required to retain. Booking, fraud-prevention, payment, safety, or legal records may be retained for the period required by applicable law or legitimate operational needs.
10. Children’s privacy
The Services are not directed to children under the minimum legal age required to create an independent account in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without appropriate authorization. Information about children included in a service booking must be provided by an authorized parent or legal guardian.
11. International data transfers
Our technology and service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards for such transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Services, legal requirements, or our data practices. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the application or another appropriate channel.
